The Sea-Doo Carbon Ring is a critical component of the 4-TEC driveline sealing system. This carbon seal presses against the stainless steel wear ring on the driveshaft to create a watertight seal between the hull and propulsion system while still allowing the driveshaft to rotate freely.

As the driveshaft spins, the carbon ring constantly rides against the stainless wear ring to maintain sealing pressure. Over time, friction and heat naturally wear the carbon surface. When the carbon ring becomes worn, cracked, or damaged, the seal can weaken and allow water intrusion into the hull. Replacing the carbon ring restores proper sealing pressure and helps maintain the integrity of the Sea-Doo carbon seal system.
