Early on with the Sea-Doo 325, we had numerous issues with fault code P2282. This is due to a boost leak between the intake manifold and the cylinder head. Not all 325's will have the fault code as it will only trigger the code if there is a substantial leak; I can assure you that almost all 325's have this issue even if the fault code does not appear.

The problem is the result of the redesigned intake manifold; the new manifold uses a different seal design that is held in place by a set of bushings in the intake manifold bolt holes. The bushings are physically longer than the depth of the intake manifold bolt holes making proper clamping force next to impossible. These bushings have caused minor leaks on most skis but some boost leaks have been major. Even if the boost leak is minimal and not triggering a fault code, it will still cause a performance loss. Any bleeding off of boost pressure is guaranteed to hurt the performance of the engine.

The fix for this is actually quite simple. We now have a kit available in our store that includes a shorter bushing and a set of intake manifold seals. To use these bushings, you must use the manifold seals from the older intake manifolds. With the shorter bushings installed, proper clamping force is achieved and the boost leak is no longer an issue.
